lifestyle photography

Everyone has their own way of doing photos...

My take on photography, is one that celebrates the true versions of whoever is in front of the lens. More than just stand still photos... they're photos that make you move, and act out how you play together and connect with one another.

Standard Lifestyle Session

This is an example of a standard lifestyle session, that took place in the Canola Patch at Sunflower & Swallow Gardens near Bezanson, AB.

This session was 30 minutes long, and their gallery included 40 images. In attendance was their family dog! Family pets are always welcome to attend as long as the location allows.

Speaking of the family dog....

This is a photo from this session that brings me a lot of happiness!

"The Point Of View (POV) of the Family Dog"

I think its such a treat to give an unexpected perspective within an image gallery...

What a special view this pupper has.. a lifetime looking up at a joy like this.

Everyone has a role...

It's really normal for kids, and small children/ babies to have "a moment" during a photo session...  a moment of overwhelm, of overheating or hunger...

Sometimes Mama's just need to cuddle their babies...

Or dad's have to be extra silly to  bring those giggles back out...

I promise wherever you are in your day, I always do my best to share a genuine and true representation of your family.

I want you to see how truly beautiful you, and your family are. How there is no other combination of genetics that would create this magic agian.

There will be no way to ever recreate these moments again, and that's part of what makes them so special.

You are the main character in your own story. I will always do my best to help you celebrate and capture how important your story and your family's story is.

When you book a Session...

Booking a session requires a few quick steps.. filling out a questionnaire, signing a model release form, and providing contact information.  All of this provides me with the necessary information I need to be able to do my job successfully, and it also provides you a direct opportunity to ask me questions, and name drop the person who introduced you to my work and would appreciate some awesome referral rewards.

After you book your session...

Expect a follow-up email from me.

This e-mail  provides detailed info about your session.

Once You're at the Session...

You can expect me to provide you with a variety of prompts that include actions like...

" try to go nose to nose..."

"cheek to cheek..."

"kids run in circles around grown ups..."

"airplane baby across to give a kiss..."

Lift baby up and down a few times!

the arm work out...

Both of you kiss baby on the cheeks...

Put baby on your shoulders and then lean in for a kiss...

Alternating gazes.. look at each other, look at the baby, look at Mom/Dad,

Look at the Camera!

At the end of your session....

As your session comes to a close, we will begin wrapping up our photos. Please know that it's really common to think of ideas and things that we should have tried during the session... It's normal to meditate on all the different ways that the session could have been changed...

I think this is where some of the magic happens... in those anticipatory moments before your gallery is delivered... the wonder...

Delivering your uniquely curated gallery is my favorite part... Getting to share the beautiful photos that you will use to share and celebrate your beautiful life.

i cannot say it enough...
